I've gotten very unproductive with my reading. Meh. I gave up on Incarceron. Started The Eyes of the Dragon. It's a whole lot of backstory so far. I also started Crossed, and I think I'm farther in that one.

Watching the Reichenbach Fall now. (I hope I spelled that right.)

And yet I have soo many books to read still. I think it's like thirty. I shall be busy again this semester :D

Website Blocking

The government can order service providers to block websites for infringing links posted by any users.

Risk of Jail for Ordinary Users

It becomes a felony with a potential 5 year sentence to stream a copyrighted work that would cost more than $2,500 to license, even if you are a totally noncommercial user, e.g. singing a pop song on Facebook.

Chaos for the Internet

Thousands of sites that are legal under the DMCA would face new legal threats. People trying to keep the internet more secure wouldn't be able to rely on the integrity of the DNS system.

Get on the phone and call your representative. Express your disapproval. Tell him or her exactly how you feel, and that you don't support this. Tell your friends to call their representatives, their Congressperson, and complain. Mention that you are a registered voter that takes your civic responsibility seriously and that you will use that vote to express your feelings about this.

“We support the bill’s stated goals — providing additional enforcement tools to combat foreign ‘rogue’ websites that are dedicated to copyright infringement or counterfeiting,” the Internet companies wrote in Tuesday’s letter. “Unfortunately, the bills as drafted would expose law-abiding U.S. Internet and technology companies to new uncertain liabilities, private rights of action and technology mandates that would require monitoring of websites.”  The chamber-led coalition in support of the bill includes Walmart, Eli Lilly & Co. and Netflix.

Google and other opponents of the legislation argue that restricting the Internet in the U.S. sets a bad international precedent and that the language defines infringing too broadly.

Is anyone on the mighty flist a fan of Chuck? zed_pm?

I used to watch it, but haven't seen an ep since the season three finale. Wondering if last season is worth it, since this season is the final.

Currently watching movies I'd give F's to. Terrrrrrible, yo. Josh Alba is in one of them.

If I'm honest, then I gotta say that I didn't really like The Crimson Petal and the White. It was good, and good to watch. Sad as all hell. Well, not all of it. Most of it. Never want to watch it, ever again.

So I'm like hard of seeing, and this itsy bitsy text that lj insists on keeping in my text box here is not working for me. *Just zoomed four times.* I shouldn't have to do that. :(

After that I wanna watch something happy, but it's 1am. Pride and Prejudice is too long. Even an episode of Merlin is too long. Btw, I have an idea for a fic. Now I know I said I was going to write an Angel-Torchwood-Doctor Who crossover with Jack as Angel's father, and there being many daddy issues, but then Miracle Day happened, and I forgot what I was gonna write about. So oops on my part. I at least started it. :p And anyway, the Merlin one might actually happen.

(I haven't written fanfic since Dark Angel was on tv. I haven't read fanfic since milly asked me to proof hers years ago. I stopped because I read a VERY scary Draco/Harry fic. I still remember it clearly, and man, it's been like EIGHT YEARS. Has fandom passed me by?)

Oh God, I hope I'm not going to be 90 someday and remember that fic. Pretty sure that if I live that long, it'll still be fresh in my mind. That's how fucked up it was.

I know I meant to watch The Crimson Petal and the White a lot sooner, but omg.

CHRIS O'DOWD. I never would have pictured it before. O_O

Edit: And now I have seen more of him than I ever cared to. Honestly, I would never have pictured THAT, either.

Harry Potter was amazing. Saw it at midnight Thursday/Friday. And now I'm seeing it again today! :D

Alan Rickman could rule the world and I'd be okay with that.
